Meet Sammy, the adorable little peanut butter and jelly sandwich robot designed to teach coding principles and skills to children in grades K-2. No tablet, smartphone, or computer is needed to program Sammy; instead, programs are created by arranging physical code cards in a sequence. Sammy reads the code cards using an OID optical scanner on its bottom as it drives over them, loading the program. Once programmed, place Sammy on a grid of map cards and watch as it follows the program, moving in different directions, activating its output gear, lighting up its LED, playing sounds, and responding to various function cards.

With an integrated output gear, you can even build simple robotic creations with moving parts that act according to the program's instructions.
